About Me

After graduating from Ad Fontes Academy in June, God called me to deepen my relationship with Him while serving others before heading off to college in the fall of 2018.

As a daughter of immigrants from Uganda and Kenya, I am honored to have the opportunity to experience my culture through a unique lens. Witnessing the injustices and intense poverty among women and the power of providing a hand up, I would like to equip myself with the leadership and business skills to empower young girls, women, and families in developing nations to overcome generational poverty.

Kivu's global gap year will enable me to grow closer to God while volunteering at local organizations rooted in peace, governance in countries such as Israel, Palestine, and Jordan. I will also humbly observe the opportunities and challenges in education and business practices in developing African nations such as Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. By the end of my gap year, I will have the honor of serving approximately 900 hours through volunteer internships across the globe.

I believe Kivu Gap Year will set my trajectory to reach this goal while providing me with the cultural competence and emotional intelligence that comes with working alongside people with unique perspectives and experiences.
